the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri opened a new car fairOn June 2, 2011 the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri opened a new car fair.

As Nika Gilauri pointed out, cars in Georgia are product number one among export products. In first quarter 20% of exports is cars. 5-6 years ago over 50% of export products of Georgia was scrap metal. Today at the first place are cars, and at the second place are ferroalloys and nitrogen fertilizers. Owing to the reforms carried out in Georgia other type of economy has been formed.

The Prime Minister expressed his thanks to Iberia Group and all the people working on implementation of the project and stated: "This project is one more example confirming that Georgia has turned into a regional center. The private sector is doing that itself now through the instrumentality of the government.

Among export products of Georgia car export has already come out on top. We are neither automobile manufacturers nor vehicle assembly is being carried out here but in spite of this a lot of companies, traders, many people import their cars to Georgia and sell cars from Georgia.

In this regard Georgia has developed into a leader in the region. What has changed? - Georgia has not changed the geographical location. However, today cars are one of the main export products, which enables to employ a great many people. And this is our aim. the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri opened a new car fair

Only one thing has changed - regulation. We have simplified everything. The fact that we are one of the countries in the world standing out in terms of ease of doing business constitutes a ground for that and this particular example is a confirming evidence of it.

We have simplified the procedures, we have simplified the procedure of import and export, registration, purchase. Everything absolutely to make consumers feel comfortable.

As a result, we are number one in the region in this line. You can come to Georgia and in an hour buy a car, register it, take credit, fuel up, choose a number and go away.

Nowhere in this region there is such easy and fast service. Today a great many people, not only from Georgia but also from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries, arrive in Georgia. They buy cars in Georgia at comparatively lower prices, execute everything very easily and quickly.

All this favours further reinforcement and increase of this business and engagement of more people in it".
