the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, met with representatives of Orthodox Church On July 19, 2011,  Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, met with representatives of Orthodox Church at the Government Chancellery.

After the meeting, Nika Gilauri pointed out: "several days ago, we agreed that we would meet with respect to the issue of establishing these commissions.
Today, we had a working meeting. We have gone through details, according to which the commission shall work in the future.

 

We have agreed that we will have one main commission working in four directions. We have already determined working mandates for all four commissions. In the nearest future,the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, met with representatives of Orthodox Church we will have one more working meeting, at which we will determine functions of the commission and future meetings in details.

 

The commission will work in four different directions: status of Georgian church at the international scene, abroad; the second one is already existing commission which will be added by commission of property determination and a subcommission; a commission determining buildings and cultural monuments, the fourth one - a monitoring commission."
After the meeting, the Metropolitan, Tevdore Chuadze, declared: "Mr. Gilauri pointed out that we have met to make decisions with respect to the commissions. We have agreed on the main principles. In the future, we will work on forming the commissions, making regulations determining operations of the commissions and cooperate as effectively as possible in order that the issues which are now of great concern of our church are settled by this commission."
