Before the meeting started, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, talked about 2011 economic results. We present the Prime Minister's speech:

"Good day. Before the government meeting starts, I would like to give you a piece of information about the last year economic results. Statistics Department continues to summarize 2011 results; we will have final figures in a few weeks.

Preliminary data are quite good and positive. December was distinguished with a good economic activities; according to preliminary data, 2011 economic growth in Georgia was 6.8% (+/-0.1%) and not 6.5%.

We have also good data in export growth indexes. Last year, export grew by 39%. It is to be mentioned that export has grown by 39% for two years in succession. We had such growth in export direction in 2010.

I would like to emphasize several products, which make growth index. Vehicles, fertilizer and nut export from Georgia has been doubled. These are main integral parts of export growth.

As for import, it was 17% in 2010, and 36% in 2011. This is important that import of construction materials and computers has grown. These are two main indexes making import during 2011. This is hopeful, as growth of import of construction material indicates improvement of construction sector and recovery of activity."
