Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, along with the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Zurab Chiaberashvili, within the framework of Government Program of available healthcare provision, visited the Bekauris, living in Tetritskaro Region and personally gave healthcare polices to its under aged members, Tamar, 4, and Giorgi, 3. The head of the Bekauris, Givi, and his wife, Tamar, received health insurance policies designated for citizens of pension age with their pension, a few days ago.

When talking to Bekauris, the Prime Minister, Vano Merabishvili, called attention to necessity of healthcare availability for each citizen of the country and emphasized that from September 1 of the current year, within the framework of Government Program of available healthcare provision, number of persons insured by the government will be increased by 1 million people reaching 1 million 900 thousand, that will be added by those 500 thousand people enjoying private insurances. As a result, from September 1, every other citizen of Georgia will enjoy health insurance policy.

After his visit to the family, the Prime Minister, Vano Merabishvili, accompanied by the Minister of Health, inspected Tetritskaro multi profile medical center, Geo Hospitals, and got acquainted with problems of patients being in the clinic. Later, they introduced challenges in healthcare sector and main directions of reform to medical personnel. When talking to medical personnel, Vano Merabishvili expressed his interest towards salaries of doctor's assistants and got acquainted with the abovementioned issue in details.

The Prime Minister called attention to the fact that number of addressing to medical centers has increased six times after rehabilitation of medical institutions within Georgia, and the trend will strengthen even more from September 1, that is connected with extension of State Insurance Program. As a result, medical centers will be addressed by the people not having visited a doctor for 10-15 years, due to having no ability. Thus, according to the Prime Minister, clinics have to meet the abovementioned trend prepared. For this very purpose, they are being equipped with up-to-date technique and staffed by highly qualified medical personnel. The Prime Minister emphasized that prevention of diseases will release the funds which may be put for curing other diseases and developing medical field in the future.

Tetritskaro multi profile medical center Geo Hospitals equipped with modern medical technologies was opened in December of 2011. The clinic having a capacity of 15 beds, is equipped with ultramodern machinery. 116 persons, including 32 doctors and 49 doctor's assistants are employed at the medical center. For construction of the clinic Irao Insurance Company made investment of more than GEL 2.5 million. The clinic started operating in December 2011.
