The Prime Minister of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, held a presentation of State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export of Georgia LtdThe Prime Minister of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, visited Tskaltubo Region and introduced an initiative of establishing State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export to local farmers. The presentation of the project was also attended by the Director of State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export of Georgia Ltd, Giorgi Jakhutashvili.

According to the Prime Minister, Vano merabishvli, the purpose of State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export is to support Georgian peasants and farmers to sell products produced by them. The Company will help producers with respect to pass customs procedures more simply, transport production and export them to markets abroad. For this purpose, fruit and vegetable gathering points will be opened all over Georgia, which will be equipped with modern technologies for sorting, packing and storing. Railway and aviation will become actively involved in transportation of production. According to the Prime Minister, construction of storing terminal is currently under way in Ukraine, from which export of Georgian fruit and vegetable will be implemented to the markets of Ukraine, as well as those of Eastern European countries.

According to the Prime Minister, Vano Merabishvili, instability of demand on markets had still remained an important challenge for Georgian farmers and peasants, causing significant financial losses; from today on, the State will become a guarantor of selling the harvest cultivated by them.
