The Prime Minister of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, who visits Guria along with other members of the government, within the framework of a three-day visit, met with local farmers at Ozurgeti. At the meeting, Vano Merabishvili introduced with activities and future plans of State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export of Georgia established within the framework of a new four-year government program More Profit to the People.

The Prime Minister of Georgia gets Gurian peasants acquainted with activities of State Company of Fruit and Vegetable Export of GeorgiaThe prime Minister talked about plans of the company, which shall receive surplus harvest from population and export it to Ukraine, from where this will be re-exported in Europe, later. According to Vano Merabishvili, farmers and peasants will have a guarantee that the abovementioned company will deliver entire surplus harvest in competitive price provide its sorting and packing and safe transportation abroad, while in case of losses, it will reimburse them. The Prime Minister emphasized that guarantees of such type are important for peasants, in order that they have more stimulus to cultivate harvest.

According to the Prime Minister, this had still been an important challenge for Georgian farmers and peasants instability of demand on markets, causing significant financial losses; from today on, the State would become a guarantee of selling the harvest cultivated by them.
