The Prime Minister of Georgia attends starting of vintage in Kakheti Print Version

Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, has visited Kakheti Region. At first, Vano Merabishvili met with local peasants at Tsnori settlement and introduced two new initiatives of the government to them. According to the Prime Minister, as Kakheti has had a hard year and natural disaster has inflicted loss to the region two times this year, according to the decision of the government of Georgia, sum of grapes covered by state voucher will be increased from 25 Tetris to 35 Tetris for black grapes and from 15 Tetris to 25 Tetris for white grapes as compared to the last year. Apart from this, 55 points will be opened to receive grapes in Kakheti Region, where one can deliver 1 kg of red grapes for GEL 1.00. The Prime Minister has also pointed out that companies will purchase damaged grapes as well, the price of which will amount to 35 Tetris per kg.

After Tsnori Settlement, the Prime Minister of Georgia visited Samtatskaro Village, where he attended starting of vintage and participated in gathering grapes with local peasants.

From Samtatskaro, Vano Merabishvili set off to Bakurtsikhe, where the cleaning works on drying channel started on July 14 according to his instruction have finished. The Prime Minister inspected drainage system arranged for agricultural lands by means of which it will become possible to dry up to 500 hectares of agricultural lands owned by 180 families.
