The Prime Minister visited Kazbegi RegionToday, Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili, together with the Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Caesar Chocheli visited several objects in Kabzegi Region.The Prime Minister visited Kazbegi Region

Initially, the Prime Minister and the Governor, along with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia Vakhtang Balavadze, visited HPP's under construction on River Tergi, "HPP Larsi" and "HPP" Dariali" and get acquainted with construction process. Construction of power plants is carried out with the use of latest technologies and after going into operation in 2014 the regions in Georgia will be provided with high-quality electric energy.

Construction of the two hydropower plants started last year and after commissioning the installed capacity will be 127 MW and an annual output 619 million kilowatt /hours. In construction of HPS's was invested 155 mln USD dollars and there are employed 328 people, mostly locals.

After visiting of HPPs' the Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili inspected the new hotel "Rooms Hotel Kazbegi" in village Stepancminda and talked with the tourists. The hotel opened in July 2012 and consists of 156 rooms. The hotel employs 90 people, most of them local residents.
