Prime Minister visited Grain storage center in Lagodekhi Print Version

Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili visited Grain storage center in Lagodekhi. Prime Minister got acquainted with the work of the center and met with farmers engaged in cultivation of grains. At the meeting Vano Merabishvili said that according to the decision of the Government of Georgia, the State-owned grain storage centers will reduce service charges - compared to last year, the cost of drying of one kilogram corn will be decreased from 8 tetri to 5 tetri, and the storage over month - from 1 tetri to 0.5 tetri.

Prime Minister noted that farmers, engaged in crops cultivation in Georgia will be served by only 4 centers - for western Georgia - in Abasha, for Shida Kartli -in Gori, for Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti - in lower Sartichala and for eastern part of Kakheti - in Lagodekhi center. Vano Merabishvili stressed the importance of operation of such centers in Georgia for stimulation of sowing of cereal crops, which over the long term will create a growth of livestock and poultry industries.
Drying capacity of Grain storage center in Lagodekhi is 30 tons per hour, and the capacity is 50 tons. The enterprise employs 37 locals, and their average wages is 400 Lari.
