After harvesting at the demonstration area, the Prime Minister inspected Refrigeration Plant in Natakhtari, which was taking the crop of tomatoes, and got acquainted with production process. Natakhtari plant is the only one in Georgia which has the ability to freeze fruits and vegetables according to modern technologies and allow the long-term storage of up to 3000 tons of food. Export of the products will mainly be carried out in such countries where, because of climatic conditions, the price of fresh fruits and vegetables is high. In addition to export, Natakhtari Refrigeration Plant will supply local confectionery, ice cream and juice manufacturers with high quality raw material.
