On May 30, 2013, a government meeting was held at the Government Chancellery of Georgia. There were 20 issues on the agenda. Five more issues were added and all of them were approved.
At today's government meeting, a state strategy on tobacco control was approved. According to this strategy, apart from strengthening control measures, an extensive information campaign will be introduced, the aim of which is to achieve consensus in society that tobacco is a harmful product, as well as to inform youths about this; another direction refers to providing tobacco addicts with relevant help.
