· Georgia was visited by a record-high number of international visitors and tourists in January 2020
· Visits by international travelers to Georgia exceeded 633 000 in January 2020 and got increased by 19.8% in contrast with the respective period of last year, while the number of visits by tourists increased by 18.9%
· Number of international travelers coming from EU countries is growing. Following source countries stood out by growth in January: Italy by 133.1%; Poland by 82.9%; France by 46.8%; Lietuva by 43.7% and others.
· According to the preliminary data, Georgia generated 193 MLN USD as proceeds from international tourism in January 2020. It is by 29 MLN USD, i.e. 17.6% higher than the respective month of the previous year
o National Tourism Administration of Georgia hosted hundreds of international media representatives in 2019. Almost 1500 articles and footages have been written and aired as a result. Also, National Tourism Administration of Georgia organized 22 exposure tours for almost 300 leading foreign tour operators in 2019
o Promotional campaigns about Georgia were held and aired on CNN, National Geographic, Google, Expedia and Conde Nast Traveler. About 15 000 000 travelers gained access to articles published about Georgia that appeared in board journals placed on flights of Wizz Air; Qatar Airways and Emirates.
