Prime Minister’s visit to the Kingdom of Belgium has started

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, has paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium. The Prime Minister of Georgia will meet with the European Commission President within the frameworks of his visit. After the bilateral meeting, Irakli Garibashvili and José Manuel Barroso will make the joint statements for media and answer their questions.
A meeting with the Euro Commission Board is also planned. The members of delegation of Georgia will present the works performed by every agency for signing the Association Agreement. Signing the agreement on assistance within the EU comprehensive institutional development program is planned. For the purpose of supporting the EU initiative - "Eastern Partnership" (EaP) priorities, the assistance instrument was proposed by Euro Commission - comprehensive institutional development program (CIB), which targets strengthening institutional capacities of partner countries and supporting events related to the Association Agreement (including "the agreement on establishing deep and comprehensive free trade area" - DCFTA). The instrument also considers improving the activities of those institutions which are related to facilitate visa regime and readmission agreement and migration issues. Within the CIB the budget for Georgia in 2011-2013 was 30.86 million EURO. The next stage of aid (2014-2020) is particularly connected with the implementation of DCFTA (deep and comprehensive free trade area). Within the frameworks of visit the Prime Minister of Georgia will hold the meeting with the representatives of Harvard Club. At the end of the visit, the Belgian Royal Museum of Art and History will host a reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia, where the speech delivery of the Prime Minister of Georgia is scheduled. Delegation of Georgia includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Energy Kakhi Kaladze, Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani, State Minister of Georgian on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili, Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Paata Zakareishvili.
