Georgia's location has great potential and our corridor becomes increasingly important - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is quoted as saying in Bulgaria at his meeting with journalists.
According to him, the importance of the corridor was one of the key items on the agenda of discussions during his first official visit to Bulgaria.
"Bulgaria is an exceedingly important country, a strategic partner and a friend of Georgia providing us with great support on European integration issues. We also spoke about the ways to develop and further strengthen our co-operation relating to the restoration of the Silk Road, our relations with Iran, resolution of strategic issues with Azerbaijan. We agreed on the necessity to further strengthen this co-operation" - Irakli Garibasvili said.
The Prime Minister said that Bulgaria is one of the excellent role models for Georgia, worthy of emulation, as Bulgaria has already come to the finish of the path Georgia in currently pursuing.
"It's a path of European integration and visa-free travel, and we heavily rely on the European Commission for a positive decision by the end of the year. We also discussed the situation in the region, which is not very promising. The situation, in general, is very complicated throughout the world. I wish to once again express my gratitude for Bulgaria's assistance and support for our country" - Irakli Garibasvili said.
