A government meeting chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was held at the Government Administration. The Ministers discussed 33 issues on the agenda of the meeting.
The Prime Minister appraised as successful the anti-drug campaign launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Cabinet of Ministers approved draft amendments to the Law on New Psychotropic Substances. At the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a series of amendments were introduced to the Law of Georgia on New Psychotropic Substances. As a result, several sub-classes were added to criminalized classes of new psychotropic substances. The aim of these amendments is to make the existing law more efficient in addressing the challenges currently facing the turnover of new psychotropic substances and to criminalize the illegal turnover of those substances that are not included in the list of new psychotropic substances.

The participants of the meeting made a decision to fund the studies of those students who live in the villages across the occupational line. Reference here is to the allocation of 1 400 000 GEL from the state budget that will go towards 552 students. The academic years (2014-2015) will be funded for the students of the universities holding all required accreditations/ authorizations.
