A government session, chaired by Georgian Prime Minister was held at government administration. The Cabinet discussed 41 issues on the agenda.
Draft Law"On the State Security Service"was approved. According to the law, the State Security Service is the special purpose agency of the executive authority under the direct subordination Georgian Government that provides for the state security and fulfills the tasksundertaken from the Georgian legislation, including this law.
Bygovernmentsession decision, the "Law of Georgia for the Prosecution" was amended. According to the draft amendment, the changes shall be introduces to the law of Georgia about Prosecution, according to which Prosecutorial Council is formed, composed of the representatives from the executive and legislative power authorities as well as the individuals appointed by the civil sector. Except the Prosecutorial Council, theProsecutorial Conference will be set up as a meeting of Georgian prosecutors and the investigators of Prosecutors' Office. The Conference will have the authority to appoint the prosecutor membersof the Prosecutorial Council.
The Law of Georgia "About the Registration and Identification (Residence) Card of GeorgianCitizensand foreigners, living in Georgia and the Rule of Issuing the Passport of Georgian Citizen" was amended. According to the amendment, the notarizedconsent of one legal representative is enoughfor the issuance of a passport, unless the minor has the second legal representative. According to the second amendment, if the notarized consent of both legal representative for the refugee minor or the person with humanitarian status cannot be presented, when issuing thetravel document, because one of the legal representativesis in the country (only for the refugee status holders) of the minor or if the minor does not have the second legal representative or the second legal representative is deceased, incompetent or missing and this circumstances cannot be verifiedwith proper documents, insteadan appropriate certificateof the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees shall be submitted.
