A meeting of the government administration chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili reviewed 41 issues on the agenda.
An amendment was made to Government of Georgia Resolution N262 of 31 March 2014 on the "Approval of the National Programme for the Improvement of Demographic Situation". The Resolution determines the frequency in which the Georgian national statistics service should provide statistical data. The Resolution also stipulates that allowances will be introduced if no positive rate of natural increase is reported for the second and third years prior to the birth of a child (children); besides, allowances already introduced will not be suspended if only positive rate of natural increase is reported for a specific region during the next few years from the introduction of such allowances.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved draft Resolution on the Approval of the "National Programme for the Introduction and Development of the Labour Market Information and Analysis Mechanisms". The draft Resolution has been designed to assist:
• the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia in carrying out an effective policy for the formation of flexible labour market and the promotion of employment;
• the Ministry of Education and Science in dully planning and implementing higher and vocational education programmes and in determining their funding priorities;
• the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to determine trends for the development of new sectors of economy based on the analysis of the labour market; to duly assess the opportunities for economic growth and attraction of investments;
• job seekers to duly plan their professional development based on labour market tendencies and find appropriate jobs;
• investors to assess the availability of qualified labour-force in Georgia's labour market and to determine a personnel policy in advance.
Amendments were also introduced to Government of Georgia Resolution N365 of 30 May 2014 on the "Approval of the National Programme "Produce in Georgia" whereby mineral products were added to the Programme.
