Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili chaired a government session on 23 June 2015 at the State Administration. The Cabinet reviewed 34 agenda items and provided the Prime Minister with updates on key projects and legislation.

During the session, the Cabinet discussed key management plans. A technical regulation on approval of the Imereti Caves' Protected Areas Management Plan was approved. A management plan on the administration of the Sataplia Nature Reserve, Aghkvetili and 19 natural monuments was also developed.

The Cabinet also discussed key public health projects. They approved the draft Memorandum of Understanding about the "Implementation of the Project to Support Early Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment of Cancer" between the Czech Development Agency and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. The Czech Development Agency had donated the Blood Separator to the Ltd "Blood Bank," within the Project of Early Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment of Cancer. They also discussed the Iashvili Children's Central Hospital Laboratory renovations. Polymerase Chain Reaction equipment has been purchased for this laboratory and a building in Zugdidi Town has been selected to host the Screening Center. The total grant is 1,100,000 Euros, and theproject will contribute to specialization of the treatment of children with leukemia by improving the accurate diagnosis of various forms of leukemia.

The approval of "Potato Cancer Control Rule" was also discussed at the government session. According to the project, the following measures will be taken: pathogen prevention and phyto-sanitary control, state control in potato production areas, after which if any symptoms of disease are revealed on the plant or at least one viable sporangium of pathogen is found in the soil, the area will be under quarantine, and demarcation of quarantine and buffer zone will take place. The quarantine zone will be banned, which will minimize the risk of spreading the pathogen. Also, long-term measures will be taken to fight against the pathogen to eliminate and prevent it from spreading.

The Cabinet also approved the "state program for professional training and capacity building of job seekers." The program aims to improve of the professional knowledge and skills for job seekers registered in the program; increase job seekers' competitiveness in compliance with labor market requirements; improve and highlight vocational education opportunities; and, increase employment opportunities overall. The program targets Georgian citizens 23 years and older that are capable of working and registered as job seekers in the labor market. More information can be found here: www.worknet.gov.ge.
