H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met with H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey today.
Focus at the meeting was made on the strategic partnership between the two countries and further more intensified cooperation.
Keen interest was expressed towards boosting cooperation in politics, trade and economy, transport and energy, arts and culture, along with humanitarian efforts.
Discussions were also related to the significance of Eurasia Tunnel, which is officially launched today. Prime Minister of Georgia, President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey have participated in the key-note event. Parties noted that this project will make a huge contribution to the revival of the Silk Road.
Particular attention was paid at the meeting to the issues of regional security, need to ensure peace and stability in the region. Prime Minister of Georgia once again expressed support and solidarity to the people and authorities of Turkey for the series of terrorist attacks occurring in the recent past. Head of the Government of Georgia noted that such violence should be opposed by consolidation of the civilized world. Georgia stands solidly by its friends in this process.
