The government meeting was held today at the Administration of the Government of Georgia under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The Cabinet reviewed 40 issues from the agenda - discussion on three issues were postpones, whether 13 topics were added.

The government approved draft amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia. Respective clauses were elaborated by the Ministry of Justice following the instructions of the Prime Minister. The draft provisions introduce tougher sanctions against those committing violent acts amid political and electoral processes. The sanction for the physical assault will be increased as well. Minister of Justice was given relevant instruction during today's government meeting.

The Cabinet also approved the state program on preparing and retraining as well as increasing qualification of the job seekers. It is an indispensable part of the government's 4-point reform plan. The Program aims at increasing competiveness of the job seekers in professions that are highly demanded on the job market through professional preparation, retraining and enrollment in internship programs of the beneficiaries and fostering employment of job seekers.

To ameliorate the quality of the medical services and ensure their geographic availability, relevant amendments will be introduced to the 2016 State Program on Rehabilitation and Equipment of the Medical Facilities. Namely, the changes aim at conducting construction works, purchase of medical equipment and furniture, techniques and inventory as well as office fittings and arranging external communications at policlinics of Lentekhi and Kharagauli settlements, screening center in Zugdidi, the National Center for Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and Emergency Center in village of Duisi in Akhmeta Municipality. Furthermore, Toyota Land Cruiser 200 registered on the balance of the Special State Protection Service of Georgia was transferred to the Ministry of Healthcare free of charge. Respective vehicle will be converted to reanimation ambulance and equipped respectively. The budget of the program is 22 974.7 thousand GEL.

Pursuant to the government decision, the plan for regulation of the development of Didveli area in Bakuriani has been approved. The plan aims at supporting improvement of the private sector and avoiding unregulated development of the resort, including Didveli area. Hence, the plan for regulation of the development is crucial.

The Cabinet also approved the "Public Private Partnership (the PPP) Policy Document" that outlines main directions, principles and institutional framework of implementation of the PPP projects. The document was elaborated pursuant to the wide discussions, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Asian Development Bank and fosters creation of attractive investment environment and economic growth.

Pursuant to the Ordinance of the government, to eliminate the results of natural disasters in 2015-2016, 4 521 900 GEL will be allocated from the Regional Projects Funds to self-governing units.

Furthermore, the annual budget implementation report for 2015 will be submitted to the Parliament. Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze will report to the committee and plenary sessions at the Parliament.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Government, the Statute of General Staff of the Armed Forces will be amended to restore the Aviation and Air Defense Command Department under the Ministry of Defence.
