Ukrainian and Azerbaijani aviation units will engage in the Abastumani firefighting operations, for which Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili expresses gratitude to the Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

According to the head of Government, the Abastumani wildfire burn area is not as wide as the Borjomi Gorge previously, and active firefighting operations are in full swing.

"Last night, I received a call from President Poroshenko who offered to dispatch an airplane. As far as I know, the airplane is on its way, expected to arrive soon, for which I am grateful to the President. Most likely, an Azerbaijani helicopter will also arrive to assist us, and I am thankful to the President of Azerbaijan for it and for granting us access to Azerbaijan's aviation during the previous wildfire. I believe that, at such times of distress, regional cooperation on emergency situations becomes especially important," Giorgi Kvirikashvili emphasized.
