Prime Minister’s Comment on the incident in Parliament Print Version

2017-12-20

At the beginning of his meeting with the Patriots of Georgia faction, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili commented on the recent incident with members of the United National Movement.

The Prime Minister publicly apologized for having been overemotional.

"Though we may be MPs, or Cabinet members, we are human beings first of all, and we all have our dignity. I would like to apologize to the public-and I emphasize the word "public"-for having been overemotional. However, representatives of the National Movement-not everyone, of course, but some-succeeded in putting me out of temper, and it was not a pretty sight. I reiterate, however, that, regardless of our position, we are called to protect our dignity first and only then everything else. Everything happening prior to it, had been designed to bring about what actually happened, and I would not put up with it, though I repeat that my emotions were uncalled for," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
