Prime Minister’s Meeting with Japanese Ambassador Print Version

Today, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili held a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Tadaharu Uehara.
The parties discussed the relations between Georgia and Japan, which have been accelerating lately at exceptional pace, and emphasized the importance of the ongoing dynamic cooperation.
The meeting pointed out a wide range of bilateral and multilateral ties. The discussion involved Georgia's implemented and ongoing reforms, which were commended by the Ambassador of Japan, and commitment further to deepen trade and economic relations was pledged.
As the Head of Government underscored, the two countries' trade and economic ties have been especially active in the recent years, a development the Georgian side welcomes. Kvirikashvili hopes that Georgia's growing export potential, along with beneficial investment and business environment, will enrich cooperation with additional dynamics.
The parties discussed prospects of future ties across a variety of directions, emphasizing projects supported by Japan. According to Tadaharu Uehara, large Japanese companies are taking enormous interest in Georgia, which is preconditioned by the country's stable business environment and democratic aspirations.
As it was stated during the meeting, close ties and high-level visits between the two countries' Governments play a vital role in cementing Georgia-Japan relations.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Japan personally congratulated Giorgi Kvirikashvili on the recent success of Georgian sumo wrestler Levan Gorgadze (Tochinoshin) who won the Emperor's Cup.
The meeting at the Administration of the Government was attended by the Prime Minister's Foreign Adviser Tedo Japaridze.
