Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia hosted an official dinner in the honor of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and government delegation arrived to Georgia with an official visit.
Head of the Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany for visiting Georgia and focused on the friendship between the German and Georgian people.
"It is a big honor for us to host our friends from Germany. One hundred years ago in this very same city first republic of Georgia was established and interestingly, but not surprisingly Germany was the first country to recognize our independence. And now, one hundred years later we are on the same path towards our European family. Indeed, this path has been full of challenges, but we have friends - real friends - who are assisting us on this path. So, I wish to raise this glass to toast to a true friendship between the German and Georgian people. It is very emotional for us to evaluate once again the decision we made a long time ago. Path to this goal will be full of challenges, but we know we have friends" stated the Prime Minster of Georgia.
Long lasting partnership relations between Germany and Georgia was noted by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, thereby expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for hospitality in Georgia.
Official dinner included stage performances with participation of Shvidkatsa Men Choir, Nicholas Rachveli Orchestra, National Folk Ballet of Sukhishvili and songs by Nato Metonidze.
Prime Minister of Georgia and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany travelled to the Funicular by a cable car and had rare views over Tbilisi.
Small exposition of images was displayed at the Funicular within the scope of the Official Dinner, which depicted life and work of German architects dwelling in Georgia.
Exposition, organized by the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, presented architectural blueprints and images of buildings designed by Otto Simonson, Albert Salzmann, Leopold Bielefeld, Victor Schröter, Paul Stern and others. Prime Minister of Georgia walked the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany through the exhibition.
