"Our aim is to turn Racha into a four season destination" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia when visiting Ambrolauri to celebrate the Day of Base.

Head of the Government of Georgia congratulated the local population and every visitor of Racha. He went to the entrepreneurial market organized at the event, which offered for sale various outputs produced within the State Program branded as Produce in Georgia.

"It brings us great joy that these programs resulted in excellent outcome in Ambrolauri. I wish to single out Produce in Georgia and Guesthouse Development. I went to see some of them today. Demand on them is truly very high and I believe that we have great prospects towards this end. Our goal should be to at least triple the number of tourists and visitors in this region of the country. Hence, more guarantees need to be issued to better promote the guesthouses. You may well be aware that we have commissioned an airport here. At the same time, 21 infrastructure projects are being implemented, out of which 18 are close to their completion. It is essential to gear momentum in the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads. Particularly noteworthy years in this regard will be 2019 and 2020. We are engaged in the development of sports infrastructure. Several stadiums are being built in Ambrolauri. Such projects will enable us to turn Ambrolauri and Racha into a four season destination. It is only about 10-15 per cent of the full potential of this beautiful region. Next stage will of course involve the rehabilitation and development of very important tourism sites in Shovi and other destinations" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of the Government of Georgia attended a concert of folk ensembles and a performance of Georgian battle art together with Archil Japaridze, Governor of the region.
