Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met with Ogtay Asadov, Chairman of Milli Mejlis in the Republic of Azerbaijan today.

Parties discussed current strategic partnership between the two countries, friendly and kind neighboring relations, active cooperation at the level of national parliaments and prospects of further deepening of trade and economic links.

"Friendship of Azerbaijani and Georgian people has a rich history. It has existed over centuries. Our partnership is of strategic nature now. Political dialogue is at a high level. Trade relations are advancing. Azerbaijan and Georgia play a crucial role in the energy security of Europe. We are implementing very important projects together, which include Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE), South Gas Corridor (SGC), Trans-Anatolian (TANAP) and Trans-Caspian Pipeline (TCP) Projects; Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) Railway, which I hope will bring a huge benefit to our countries" stated the Chairman of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan.

Head of the Government of Georgia focused on the strategic partnership of Georgia and Azerbaijan.

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, projects of historic importance have been implemented jointly by Azerbaijan and Georgia.

"Through a shared effort, we succeeded in implementing projects of historic importance and now aim to do more for a better use of joint economic potential. Georgia is a parliamentary democracy. It is a parliamentary republic. We attach great importance and significance to our cooperation at the parliament level and I am thrilled that this cooperation is truly exemplary. We can more actively use the free trade regimes that Georgia has to establish joint ventures and create jobs both in Georgia and Azerbaijan" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Parties also spoke about the international law principles, including the respect towards territorial integrity.
