As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated at today's meeting with the Business Association, we are the region's leader, but that is not enough, because we must be among the world's top five.

According to the Prime Minister, yet another criteria used by the Government to assess one reform or another judges the extent to which it has helped the country become among the top five in all important rankings.
The Head of Government, during today's meeting with representatives of the business community, discussed the Fraser Institute's latest index ranking Georgia 7th among 162 countries in terms of economic freedom.

"During out US visit, a very important study was published by the Fraser Institute, the Economic Freedom Index, a vitally important ranking to us. Georgia has advanced two points to be ranked 7th among 162 countries. However, I would like to inform you-and every relevant ministry has already been instructed-that gradually Georgia must be ranked among the top five in all important indexes," Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government heavily focuses on infrastructural development as well, because the inadequate development of infrastructure is a serious obstacle hindering Georgia's further inclusive and growing economic progress.

"This year's budget is genuinely unprecedented in this regard, and the next year's draft budget includes some very ambitious figures. I am convinced that we will succeed in reaching these targets defined in the 2019 budget," Mamuka Bakhtadze emphasized.
