"Project developed within the scope of our Green Policy will ignite a completely new spark to the economic life of our country" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia when commenting on the initiative to substitute the current pool of transport with electric cars.

As noted by the Head of Government of Georgia, it is a very important initiative, which will ensure a comprehensive response to current challenges faced by Georgia and will thereby substantially strengthen the sustainability of our economy.

"Achilles' heel of our economy is the most pressing trade deficit. You may well be aware that we actually have three times higher import of commodities than export and fuel is imported in the highest volume of all. Electric cars will enable us to introduce a lot of benefits into our economy. It will also be translated into an improved macroeconomic position as this initiative will substantially reduce the trade deficit in our economy" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, substantial concessions will be institutionalized for leasing schemes, as a result of which individuals currently driving vehicles with engines of internal combustion will make savings on the cost of fuel to buy an electric car by installment payments within five years.

Prime Minister of Georgia believes that another equally significant project will be implemented in the country, according to which a new infrastructure will be created in Tbilisi to extend the underground transport from Samgori towards Lilo.

"Development of public transport is a key priority of our Green Policy and I am confident that this initiative will greatly assist our citizens. I wish to remind you that 230 000 people will benefit of this very significant project initiative" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
