Up to 22 Million GEL in Administrative Monetary Penalties to Be Abolished Print Version

2019-01-18

According to the resolution approved at today's Government meeting, citizens will be exempt from up to 22 million GEL in administrative monetary penalties.

As the Prime Minister stated during today's briefing, those having committed administrative offenses prior to January 15, 2019 will be eligible for exemption from administrative monetary penalties.

"Along with the penalty, the law also exempts from penalty interest. We seek to alleviate the financial burden of socially vulnerable citizens, pensioners, war and armed forces veterans, people with disabilities, single parents and their families, who bear the heavy burden of penalty interest. Overall, our citizens will be exempt from almost 22 million GEL in administrative monetary penalties," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
