2019-01-18

As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze announced at the briefing before Today's Government meeting, the initiative designed to enable employed socially vulnerable citizens to keep their social assistance will be launched in January.

According to the Head of Government, socially vulnerable citizens will keep social assistance for a year and all non-monetary benefits for two years.

"It is a very important initiative which, I am convinced, will help us fight poverty. I urge our citizens enjoying social assistance to take advantage of this benefit. I would like to remind everyone that said initiative applies to families with a score not exceeding 100,000 database points. In addition, another initiative will be proposed today to increase fivefold, from 10 to 50 GEL, financial assistance for children from such families," Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.
