As Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today's Government meeting, the recent resolution submitted to the US Congress contains a strong message of support for Georgia.

According to the Head of Government, a resolution has been submitted to the US Congress which condemns Syria's recognition of Georgia's regions, Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region, as independent states.

The resolution, the Prime Minister emphasized, reiterates the US support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and condemns the Russian occupation of Georgia's regions.

"The dynamic of the recent period shows important, strong messages we enjoy from our friends, and I would like to thank them for that. Such provisions in US legislative acts are of vital importance," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
