"I am delighted that we will be signing significant trade contracts with Belarus, in line with which joint ventures will be incorporated in Georgia" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia in his speech delivered at Made in Belarus fair today.

Head of Government of Georgia officially launched the fair together with Mikhail Rusy, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. Apart from the fair, Tbilisi is hosting a Georgian-Belarus Business Forum as well, which engages almost 150 Belarussian companies.

As noted by the Prime Minister of Georgia, such expositions and business forums should ensure the inflow of additional foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia.

"More FDI will be attracted from Belarus as a result of the fair and business forum held today - and what is most important - we will welcome more tourists from our friendly nation. I am confident that economic cooperation, which will be nurtured between Georgia and Belarus in the coming years is bound to create many jobs both in Belarus and Georgia" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, Fair of Belarussian Products gives an excellent opportunity not only for establishing business contacts between Georgian and Belarussian enterprises, but also for Georgian consumers to get them better exposed to the Belarussian products.

"I am delighted that this fair has turned into a good tradition in our city. We have particularly friendly and warm relations with Belarus and are very proud of this. Around 150 companies have visited us from Belarus, which once again demonstrates that we have great potential of economic cooperation. I am thrilled that bilateral trade is increasing. We have agreed today that this is not a maximum benchmark and we have all the preconditions to at least double the trade volumes between the two countries" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Made in Belarus fair held at ExpoGeorgia engages almost 75 Belarussian companies and enterprises. It showcases Belarussian agriculture machinery, electric busses, and science-technology innovations, pharmaceuticals and food products, etc.
