Government to Propose to Parliament Initiative on Declaring May 12 Day of Georgia as the Lot of the Most Holy Virgin Print Version

Today, the Government will propose to the Parliament of Georgia to adopt an expedited legislative amendment to declare May 12, commemorating the Holy Apostle Andrew, also as Day of Georgia as the Lot of the Most Holy Virgin, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at the briefing before today's Government meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, this initiative comes from the Orthodox Christian Church of Georgia.

"This initiative has been proposed by the Orthodox Christian Church of Georgia, an initiative we respect and endorse. I am convinced that May 12 will be one of the special national holidays in Georgia," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
