Georgia-Cyprus political and economic relations, tourism cooperation, and people-to-people contacts were the key topics of today's meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades.

The meeting at the Administration of the Government also touched on the two countries' successful cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including under various international organizations. Special emphasis was placed on Cyprus' strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the country's European integration. The importance of voicing Cyprus' supportive position at the events scheduled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership this coming May was also emphasized.

The Head of Georgian Government praised the official visit by the Cypriot President-the first visit in the history of independent Georgia-as a historic event.
The parties also expressed commitment to strengthening economic cooperation to match the level of economic relations with that of the political cooperation between the two countries. Special attention was paid to the issues pertaining to circular migration. The President of Cyprus expressed readiness to take further steps in this direction.

The meeting also commended the healthcare, agricultural, and information exchange cooperation agreement signed during the Cypriot President's visit to Georgia.
The parties expressed their firm belief that the visit by the President of Cyprus will bring about tangible results in bilateral formats and on Georgia's path to EU integration.

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia, and Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili participated in the enhanced-format negotiations.
