A new residential district will be constructed for Georgian servicemen and their families on Makhata Mountain. Presentation of the project was held by Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia together with Minister of Defense of Georgia.
Project aims to improve the living standards and social conditions of military personnel and it will be co-financed from the State Budget of Georgia.
In the opinion of the Head of Government of Georgia, it is particularly important to ensure relevant conditions for - valuable sons of homeland - military servicemen of the country. Initially, almost 700 military personnel will be covered by the project and this number will increase to 2000 later on.
"Ultimately, Government of Georgia aims to make sure that every individual working within the defense forces of Georgia believe that authorities are doing their best to reward their deeds, dedication and loyalty towards homeland. In recent years we increased the salaries and wages to over 2200 military personnel and civilians employed within the defense forces. In addition 9000 people will have an increased remuneration in 2019-2020. Overall, increased payroll within the last 4 years covered over 11 000 people employed within the defense system of the country" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Head of Government of Georgia congratulated the servicemen of the country with the Day of Defense by focusing on the outstanding role of the Georgian officers engaged in the international peace-keeping missions and noted that they lead in the opinion of every partner authority.
"We hear praise of our servicemen from literally every single partner of our country. They talk about our officers, their courage, preparedness and spirit in the most superlative manner. They refer to the authentic Georgian spirit of bravery and courage" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Head of Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the servicemen and noted that this type of success is vital for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
"Sovereign consciousness of any nation is defined by its attitude towards its army, servicemen and people who sacrifice their lives to defend their country, sovereignty and security. We are building our army, which will primarily be the guarantor of peace. We are building an army, which will be permanently ready to respond to any and all challenges" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
New residential district for servicemen will be built on the land, which is captured in the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. Construction works will be performed with a principle of partnership, while 40% of the cost of residential units will be co-financed from the State Budget of Georgia.
