"It is the greatest honor to be a soldier of one's homeland and you truly excel in your deeds and duties. Accept my most special gratitude for this" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia when addressing the military servicemen participating in the event marking the Day of Defense Forces today.

Head of Government of Georgia focused on the stamina, dedication and heroism of Georgian officers and noted that Georgian army has made a tremendous contribution to the building of independent and democratic Georgia.

"It has been 28 years that military forces of Georgia exist and all these 28 years were full of challenges. You make the greatest contribution of all in the success of Georgia towards our European and Euro-Atlantic integration" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia recalled the officers fallen in the fights for territorial integrity of Georgia and international peace-keeping missions with great honor. "Our military heroes sacrificed their lives to their homeland, its freedom and dignity. They have thus joined eternity and their names will remain immortal. I bow to them and their families and treasure their legacy" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Head of Government of Georgia particularly congratulated the veterans and current participants of international peace-keeping missions.

"They are safeguarding the global peace together with the military personnel of our partner countries and friendly nations. We greatly value their contribution to the safer existence on the planet and take great pride in making Georgian courage world-known through their dedication and perseverance. Sovereign consciousness of any nation and country is measured by its attitude towards its army and servicemen, towards those who sacrifice their lives to the sovereignty, freedom, dignity and security of their homeland" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

When visiting the Fourth Military Hardware-Driven Brigade of Vaziani, Prime Minister of Georgia paid tribute to the memory of fallen Georgian servicemen and laid wreath of garland at their tombstones together with the President of Georgia, Chairman of the Parliament and Minister of Defense of Georgia.
