"Long history of our nation is full of fights for freedom and unity. Each such fight has brought to life its heroes. Shindisi village was among such battlefields in August 2008, when our soldiers got heroically fallen in an unequal fight with the occupant" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia after laying a wreath of garland at the Memorial of War Heroes in Shindisi today.

"This day is a huge pain for us all. Man standing by my side is a hero of our current times. His name is Akhmeta Khutsishvili and he saved lives of our fellow servicemen. He should serve as a role model for future generations" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Edmond Minashvili, author and key person behind the Shindisi Project was also visiting the village. As the Prime Minister of Georgia noted, team of young individuals carried out a significant work and shot a motion fiction about Shindisi Heroes. The film is nominated for a prestigious cinema festivals of the world, including the Oscar Academy Awards.

"I wish to thank them for it. Our task is to let the entire world see that Georgia is a homeland of heroes and Georgian nation will never tolerate occupation" added the Head of Government of Georgia.

Prime Minister of Georgia was escorted today by Levan Izoria, Minister of Defense of Georgia and Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.
