Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia got briefed by Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi on the rehabilitation works progressing at Gudiashvili Circle at the actual construction site today.

Overall, 26 buildings will be entirely recovered within the scope of rehabilitation at Lado Gudiashvili Circle in Tbilisi, out of which 22 are monuments of cultural heritage.

Cost incurred on the rehabilitation works in 2018-2019 amounted 37 MLN GEL, while additional 25 MLN have been allocated for 2019-2020.

Total budget of the rehabilitation project for Gudiashvili Circle amounts 62 MLN GEL.

Currently, foundation and basements of historic monuments are being reinforced and reconstructed at Gudiashvili Circle; artistic and wooden decorative elements are being restored; wooden balconies are being built; and newly discovered artifact constructions are being cleared for their further scrutiny.

Implementation of the project will result in the significantly improved living standards of almost 124 private property owners within the project site. New, tourism destination of active attraction will emerge in the historic part of the city.

Rehabilitation works at Gudiashvili Circle and adjacent streets will also cover the arrangement of green surface of the actual circle and square, recovery of the street surface, along with an arrangement of a museum and exhibition space within the rehabilitated area.
