We all understand that jobs-and, ultimately, the weakness and even absence of a middle class-are the main economic challenges, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated during today's meeting with economic experts.

According to the Head of Government, the state is obligated to carry its social weight until a healthy, strong business sector emerges in the country to be able to assume social responsibility to the citizens.

"In fact, we say that we are ready to put on the table and discuss the problems both you and we see. Consequently, I am confident that our healthy discussion will bring about a solution focusing, above all else, on the country's economic growth and on maintaining social stability in the country. Ultimately, when we are talking about economy, we end up discussing the number of jobs. The main task will involve reforms leading to increasing jobs and this way ensuring economic growth and creating in the country a healthy middle class, which is also necessary for the stability of the political process," Giorgi Gakharia stated.
