Prime Minister of Georgia Meets Estonian Colleague in Davos Print Version

Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia met Jüri Ratas, Prime Minister of Estonia within the scope of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos today.

Meeting was focused on the friendly relations existing between Georgia and Republic of Estonia.

Head of Government of Georgia expressed gratitude to his Estonian colleague for the support demonstrated towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, along with the assistance expressed in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.

Discussion touched upon the performance of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process, along with the significant contribution of Georgia in the overall Euro-Atlantic security.

Attention was focused on the Summit of Eastern Partnership, which will be held in Brussels this June. Vision of Eastern Partnership will be developed at the referred event on the agenda ahead.

Parties discussed grave violations of humanitarian conditions at the occupied territories of the country and Peace Policy of the Government of Georgia branded as a Step towards Better Future.

Prime Ministers also touched upon the bilateral cooperation in various directions, including Defense and Security.

Positive trend of trade relations has been labeled as positive at the meeting, along with the increasing inflow of Estonian visitors to Georgia. Prime Ministers discussed the possibility of establishing a joint format of Economic Commission to further intensify the economic links between the countries.

By the close of the meeting Giorgi Gakharia invited Jüri Ratas to Georgia.
