A few minutes ago, the Emergency Interagency Coordination Group, established under the leadership of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, concluded its first meeting. The Emergency Group was convened and led by the Head of Government immediately after the first case of coronavirus in Georgia was reported.

Representatives of all participating agencies briefed the Prime Minister in detail on ongoing and planned measures to stave off a possible outbreak.

The meeting of the Emergency Coordination Group also made a decision to impose restrictions on movement by land from Iran, along with the previously enforced suspension of air travel. This decision has already been communicated to the Iranian side through relevant channels.
