Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze hosted an official reception in honor of the participants of the 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The Head of Government thanked President Asakawa and the ADB team for their trust and emphasized the special importance of holding the event in Tbilisi.
"It is a great honor for us to host the ADB Annual Meeting in Georgia. It is a great pleasure to have such honorable guests in Georgia and Tbilisi. Hospitality is the main feature of the Georgian character, and we Georgians say that the guests is from God. And you are all sent by God, and that is why we think that you will bring a lot of success to our country.
"We are very much happy with our friendship and cooperation, and we think that this friendship has a very strong foundation.
"I hope that you enjoy your stay in Georgia. I would like to thank all the organizers of the ADB Annual Meeting, all the people who are involved," the Prime Minister said.
The ADB President pointed out the productive cooperation between the Asian Development Bank and Georgia. Masatsugu Asakawa thanked Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for hosting the event.
"This is the first time for Georgia to host the ADB Annual Meeting. We are so grateful for your support in making this event a great success.
"Situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia serves as a bridge for the exchange of goods, services, and information across our continents. This annual meeting is a significant opportunity to showcase all the best that the country has to offer, a vibrant economy, rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm and welcoming people," the ADB President stated.
Hosted in Tbilisi on May 2-5, the 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) features about 4,000 participants from 68 countries.
