2022-06-28

Government Decree bans the export of wheat and barley from Georgia until July 1, 2023. Respective document has already been signed by the Prime Minister of Georgia.

As the Government Decree stipulates, the decision is conditioned by the food security problems created in the current world.

"Considering the globally created food security problems, which are stemming from the Russia-Ukraine war, export of wheat and barley from Georgia is banned until July 1, 2023. Government Decree is valid upon signing and applies to contractual relations under the value chain arising from July 4, 2022" reads the Government Decree.
