On July 4, 2007 was held the Meeting of the Government of Georgia. The agenda consisted of 31 items.

Upon beginning of the Meeting the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli informed the members of the Government of Georgia about some data of the results of the financial and economic activity in the first half of the current year. He noted that as compared with the similar period of the past year in six months of the current year was established by 30% more new private enterprises and their payroll increased by 49.2%. The Prime Minister stated, that our plans in connection with the creation of new working places are performed with success and expressed the hope that such tendency will be kept in the second half of the year as well. Namely, this year in the national economy we are waiting creation of about 90000 new working places. This means that during the year will be employed 90000 our citizens that is a very significant result of the economic growth. He also noted that in June the consumer prices index -inflation was minus 0.2% and the inflation rate for 6 and 12 months was 4.1 and 7,3 % accordingly. This indicator as well as the rates of development of the Georgian economy are in the limits planned as a result of the economic reforms.

The Prime Minister of Georgia informed those attended that this week took start the unified national exams for admission to higher schools and asked the minister for education and science of Georgia Alexandre Lomaya to inform the members of the Government about the course of exams.

The minister for education and science of Georgia Alexandre Lomaya informed those attended that the unified national exams for admission to higher schools are lasting for the third day. This year the all-time number of entrants take part in them, about 40000 young people that is by 7000 more than the past year. The exams are carried in the stable, quiet and practical manner without technical or organizational defects. All tests will be completed on July 18, then will start the processing of results the final data of which will be declared in the middle August.

The Prime Minister of Georgia noted that the unified national exams became an ordinary event for the society and we attach great importance to their results, educational process at all their stages. He expressed his satisfaction with the course of the unified national exams and thanked the minister for education and science of Georgia Alexandre Lomaya, the total staff of the Ministry for the activity performed in this direction.
