Government of Georgia – Government Meetings 2007 Year

Meeting of January 24, 2007

On January 24, 2007 was held the Meeting of the Government of Georgia. The agenda included 21 items.

Upon the beginning of the Meeting the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli informed the members of the Government that from January 22 he had held meetings with the State Confidants of the Georgian President , heads of regional administrations and chairpersons of local self-governments according to regions.

The Prime Minister said that this year the Government has the ambitious plans in the regions. At this stage are selected the priority state investment programs. At present all regions have the local financial resources for improvement of the service level, creation of additional working places, development of economy. The Prime Minister of Georgia noted that the meetings were attended by the finance minister Alexi Alexishvili and called other members of the government to take active part in the process aimed at the development of infrastructure in the regions.

The Prime Minister of Georgia welcomed the return of the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Georgia in Tbilisi and expressed hope that this will entail concrete positive steps in the Russia-Georgia relations. He stated, that from our hand as we have declared not once, we are ready for the constructive and partner relations with Russia.
