Prime Minister Meets Representatives of Bank SectorOn January 11, 2010 at the Government Chancellery the Prime Minister met the representatives of the bank sector. Nika Gilauri noted that the meetings with the bank sector representatives turned to become traditional.

"Within a certain period we have formed the tradition to meet bankers. From the aspect of economic growth the past year ended rather positively as we mean the last quarter. For this year very significant will be the effectiveness of the bank sector that is the rate of growth of crediting of the economy and the interaction between the bank and private sector.

Within the past period together with the National Bank and Ministry of Finance we worked out on some issues. One issue is the interaction of the tax lien and bank mortgage which shall be granted a great priority. Today we are meeting on this issue. If we will be effective in decision-making, I will think that tomorrow the issue will be ready for submission to the government session. We believe this decision will promote the growth of credit portfolios at banks, facilitate credit provision and reduce rates of interest", - PM Nika Gilauri stated.
