"Prior to conclusion of such agreements, the Government of Georgia shall fulfill certain preconditions. One of the preconditions, the fulfillment whereof has been required by the European Community, is to establish an independent free trade and competition agency". Such agency with the same name existed in the Ministry of Economic Development. Under the decision of the Government the agency, as the structural unit of the Ministry of Economic Development, was liquidated. Therefore, under the President's order, an independent legal entity under public law with the same name will be founded.

Such measurement is the first stage stipulated by the Government resolution. In autumn the said agency will be equipped with the respective authorizations," - the Head of the Press Service of Prime Minister declared.
