"I'd like to present Giorgi Pertaia as the new Chief Advisor of the Prime Minister for Protection of Business Interests. As you know, at the meeting with Georgian businessmen a few days ago, Nika Gilauri came up with the initiative to form the new position in his Administration to further simplify the relations between business and the Government.

Giorgi has excellent experience in this area. He is well known in Georgian business circles. A few years ago, Giorgi held the office of the Chairman of Commerce and Transport Committee of American Chamber of Commerce, where his core function was to safeguard business interests.

Besides, Giorgi worked in various USAID and EU projects in connection with the study of business climate. Just a while ago, he graduated from West Illinois University Business School, acquiring a master's degree. After that, he worked for a while as a freelance expert for Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, where his scope of competence included developing countries, including Georgia. Giorgi returned to Georgia three weeks ago," Nikoloz Mchedlishvili said.

The Head of Prime Minister's Press Office also said that the Prime Minister welcomes Giorgi's advent to his team. "Giorgi successfully graduated from a business school in America and holds a master's degree in business administration. He is well known in Georgian as well as foreign business circles, and his entire career has revolved around business. With his arrival in our team, we must further promote the relations between business and the Government and it will be within Giorgi's competence to bring the problems facing business up to the Government," Nika Gilauri said.
