Georgian Prime Minister met President of International Finance Corporation 25 August 2010, the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri met Lars Thunell, CEO and Executive Vice President of International Finance Corporation (IFC).

At the press conference following the meeting the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri thanked the guest for rendering support to Georgia.

"I want to thank Lars Thunell and IFC for support provided to Georgia during the recent years. As you know, international financial organizations play a huge role in development of global economy in 2008-2009-2010.

One of the important organizations from the aforesaid is IFC. The portfolio allotted by it to Georgia is more than 360 mln USD. The said portfolios are allocated for different directions.

One of the key directions was and still is the banking sector. This promoted the fact that the present-day banking sector is healthy and well developing.

Today we discussed new projects: IFC's future financing of agricultural projects, hydropower projects, road infrastructure and portfolios additionally allocated to the banking sector.

It is one of the most important international finance organizations and a significant partner which I want to thank and I believe that partnership will continue in future and more big portfolios will be allocated to Georgia", said the Georgian Prime Minister.
