Nikoloz Mchedlishvili, the Head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister of GeorgiaOn 1 September 2010, Nikoloz Mchedlishvili, the Head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister of Georgia, made the following statement:

"Some of the media have lately reported an allegedly expected staff changes in the Government. Some reports even claimed that the members of the Cabinet of Ministers had written applications for resignation.

By the Prime-Minister's instruction, I'd like to state that no staff reshuffling in the Georgian Government is expected to happen any time soon and that the reports of such expectations are just a far cry from the reality.

You know that Aleksandre Kvitasishvili, the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, resigned yesterday but it happened only because the Academic Board of Ivane Javakhishhvili State University of Tbilisi had offered him the office of the rector of the University," Nikoloz Mchedlishvili said.
